Jindarian Shipyards (R16)

NOTE: On all SSDs the shaded boxes on the Drone Racks, Plasma Racks and the ADDs represent the Y175 refit.
NOTE: On some SSDs the fighter/shuttles have shaded boxes, these represent the crippled the status of the fighter/shuttle.
NOTE: On some SSDs the crew check-off boxes have a 'B' or 'D' in them, these represent the crew units that are Boarding Parties or Deck Crews.

(R16D.301) HEAVY STRIKE CARRIER (HCV) There is some evidence that a few Jinbaros may have considered turning a Heavy Strike Cruiser into this design. The speculation being that the addition of fighters would have enchanced their raiding capability. There exists no solid evidence any such ships were in fact produced.

(R16D.303) HEAVY FIGHTER CARRIER (HVH) Found in the archives of the Romulan Empire this design is pure speculation based on the rumors of the Heavy Strike Carrier. The Romulans designers must have theorized that the more potent heavy fighters would be a natural line of progression for this type of ship.

(R16P.305) AREA CONTROL SHIP (ACS) A design study made at the behest of a Jinbaro after observing a ISC ACS in action. Based on all information available it would appear that no such ship was ever produced.

(R16D.306) DIVISION CONTROL SHIP (DCS) A logical follow on to the earlier study for a ACS. As was the case with the ACS, no information currently available supports the conclusion that this was any more than a design study.

(R16001) MULTI-ROLE CRUSIER (MRC) The counterpart to the HDW, this ship, based on the LCS, was introduced at the same time by some caravans. Like the HDW, it is unique in that it has its option mounts mounted fore and aft rather than rear firing.

(R16P.501) LIGHT MAULER (LMA) This ship was found in the files of a Klingon F5. The files were badly corrupted and it could not be verified as to whether or not such a ship actually existed. Some within the Federation Intelligence Community (pointing to the fact that no such ship had ever been encountered by the Federation, the Kzinti's or the Gorn) believe it was merely a simulator used to train Klingon Captains.

(R16M.502) FAST CRUISER (FC) This design, which was found in the data banks of a Orion Salvage Cruiser, was thought to be intended by the Jindarians to act as a high speed courier allowing caravans to keep in touch with each other. Unable to produce larger engines, the Jindarians managed to squeeze a destroyer engine into a light cruiser producing this design.

(R16M.503) LIGHT SCOUT CARRIER (LSV) As they had done with standard size fighters the Jindarians followed the lead of the galactic powers and produced heavy fighters. This ship was designed to utilize the new Meteor-H Heavy Fighter. Escorts were a DDE and a FFE. Not all caravans deployed this design.

(R16P.504) LIGHT PATROL CARRIER (LVP) Some of the caravans, but not all of them produced ships of this class. Escorts were a DDE and a FFE.

(R16D.505) LIGHT SCOUT CRUISER (LSC) Perhaps some of the Jinbaros may have considered the proposition that by modifying their Light Strike Cruisers into this design they would have increased their ability to find both other prospecting ships or other resources.

(R16P.506) LIGHT STRIKE CARRIER (LCV) A few of the caravans used ships of this design. In most cases the escort group was an DDE and FFE, but in at least one instance, one was observed operting with a CLE and FFE as an escort group.

(R16D.507) LIGHT ESCORT CRUISER (LCE) A heavy escort built on the light cruiser hull. Only a few were built and most were used to escort carriers based on the heavy cruiser, on occassion they were assigned to light cruiser based carriers as replacement for either DDE or the FFE.

(R16D.508) FAST SCOUT CARRIER (LSVF) While first reports indicated that the Jindarians were unable to produce fast warp engines, other reporting indicates this not to be the case. This ship is an example of thier use of fast warp engines. Not all caravans produced ships of this class. Had they been necessary escorts would have been the same as the LSV (DDE and FFE).

(R16002) LIGHT SURVEY CRUISER (LSR) Many wealthy caravans operated a modified Light Strike Cruiser as a survey cruiser. On these ships, the SPEC boxes were converted to labs and cargo. It also carried 1 HTS shuttle. This ship was used by the caravan to scout for new areas to prospect.

(R16P.701) DESTROYER SCOUT COURIER (DSC) Larger caravans modified Destroyers designed to be used as means of locating other caravans. The SPEC boxes were permanent conversions to Barracks (carrying slaves to be bought and/or sold) and Cargo (for small but important material to be traded). The single Special Sensor was used to aid in the location of other caravans. Two prospecting shuttles were provided which allowed the ships a minor prospecting capability.

(R16M.720) ASTEROID DESTROYER (ADD) Somewhat larger than the Asteroid Frigate the ADD served the same purpose but allowed for a larger crew and additional capabilities.

(R16M.740) ASTEROID WAR DESTROYER (ADW) A late development made during the General War when the smaller caravans were likely to encounter hostile fleets. The ship was designed more for combat that prospecting and proved far less popular then the standard Asteroid Destroyer.

(R16P.801) FRIGATE SCOUT COURIER (FSC) Smaller caravans lacking the resources operated a modified Frigate in the role of a courier. Like the larger DCS the SPEC boxes were permanently converted to Cargo and Barracks (carrying important cargo for trade and slaves to be sold and/or purchased). A single prospecting shuttle gave the ship a miminal capability to prospect.

(R16P.802) GUNFIGHTER FRIGATE (GFF) Like all the major races, the Jindarians experimented with the concept of a "gunfighter" frigate. As with all other ships of this type it does not suffer from shock.

(R16M.820) ASTEROID FRIGATE (AFF) After they split some caravans did not have either the "manpower" or resources to construct or man larger asteroid ships. They turned to smaller asteroids for their immediate needs. Once the caravan could manage it they went to the larger size asteroids for their requirements. The smaller ships were then apparentely abandoned. There have been some reports of such ships being discovered.
